Worcester Sharks sign forward Jamie McGinn to ATO

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the club has signed forward Jamie McGinn of the Ottawa 67's (OHL) to an ATO. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McGinn, a 6', 180-pound center completed his third season with Ottawa of the Ontario Hockey League with 89 points (46+43=89) in 68 games played. McGinn led all scorers on Ottawa and was ranked seventh in the OHL in goals and 17th in points. Of his 46 goals, 21 came on the power play which ranked him 10th in the league in that category.

In three seasons with the 67's, McGinn compiled 82 goals and 86 assists for 168 points. In addition to his 168 regular season points, McGinn also recorded 21 points in 29 games played during the OHL Playoffs.

The native of Fergus, Ontario was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the second round (36th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
