Albers recalled, Ovington reassigned

HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League have recalled D Paul Albers from ECHL Texas, while reassigning D Chris Ovington to the Wildcatters.

Albers, 21 (10/15/85), was named to the ECHL's All-Rookie team on Wednesday after posting 43 points (12-31=43) in 68 games. He ranked second among AHL rookie defensemen in goals and fourth in points. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Melville, Sask., participated in the ECHL All-Star Game. The Minnesota Wild signed Albers as a free agent on July 5, 2006. Albers was a Western Hockey League Western Conference First Team All-Star last season with the Vancouver Giants.

Ovington, 26 (8/15/80), has three assists in 34 games with the Aeros this season, while accumulating four points (2-2=4) in six games with Austin of the Central Hockey League. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound native of Vernon, B.C., attended the University of Alberta, and saw action in 11 regular- and post-season games with the Aeros in 2005-06.
