LA Kings Assign Goaltender to Nailers

Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announce today that goaltender Danny Taylor has been assigned to the team from the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL.

Taylor, a rookie, posted a 7-7-2 record with a 4.33 goals-against average and a .872 save percentage this season with Bakersfield of the ECHL.

The 20-year-old native of Plymouth, England was the Kings' seventh round selection in the 2004 NHL Entry draft.

To complete the transaction, the Nailers sent rookie defenseman Mark Malone to Bakersfield.

Malone, 24, played in 19 games this year with Wheeling, registering one assist and 20 penalty minutes.

The Nailers return home this Friday and Saturday for two games against the Johnstown Chiefs. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.

Friday is "College Night" and tickets are just $7 for fans with a valid college I.D. Admission is free for fans brave enough to wear a toga.

On Saturday night, the first 2500 fans through the gates will receive a Curtiss Patrick mini bobble head doll.
