
Cyclones Sign Forward Matt Rogers

READING, Pennsylvania - The Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, announced Wednesday (Feb. 21) that forward Matt Rogers has signed with the club.
Rogers, 20, began his professional career in training camp with the Cyclones in October. Matt Appeared in seven games with the Cyclones, picking up an assist in the 2-1 win vs. Wheeling on Nov. 18. After being waived by Cincinnati, he played with Rio Grande (Central Hockey League) and played in six games, netting a pair of goals. He had the game winning goal in the 2-1 triumph over Laredo, the defending league champions, on Dec. 17. Rogers also appeared in ten games with Chicago in the United Hockey League, picking up a goal and an assist along the way.
Rogers played two seasons collegiately, at Elmira (2003-04), appearing in ten games and at New England College (2004-05), playing in one game. He did not play last season.
Rogers has joined the team in Reading and could play in tonight's game against the Royals at 6:35pm. The game video will be carried on the b2 Networks and the audio will air on the club's website www.cycloneshockey.com. This is the first game of a seven game road trip for the North Division leading Cyclones.
