Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Jeff Pietrasiak ("peh TRAY zee ack") has been loaned to the Hershey Bears of the AHL. Pietrasiak (6'1"/180 lbs.) (23), a first year pro from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, has gone 13 - 13 - 2 with a 2.98 and a .904 save percentage in twenty-eight games with the Royals this year. This marks Pietrasiak's fourth trip with three different teams-the Bears, the Manitoba Moose, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins-to the AHL this season. He's appeared in one American League game this year, stopping 45 shots in a 7-4 win for the Bears over the Norfolk Admirals on December 30, 2006. In his last two games with the Royals, Pietrasiak stopped 61 of the last 63 shots he faced for the Royals in a 2-1 win over the Dayton Bombers on Saturday and a 2-1 shootout win over Wheeling on Sunday.

The Royals return to action tonight (6:35 pm) against the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Royals will honor the Reading Phillies that day with the first 1000 fans 21 years of age or older receiving a Royals/Phillies plastic "batting helmet" courtesy of Coors Light and All Star Distributing. Royals' game night broadcasts can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am (and on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com), beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available for $6.00 per game through the B2 Networks, which can be accessed through the Royals' website.
