
Bakersfield Falls to Fresno in Overtime, 2-1

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors picked up another point, but lost in overtime to the Fresno Falcons 2-1, Tuesday night, in front of 3,910 at Save Mart Center. John Morlang scored just :46 into the extra session to win it.
Bakersfield (30-12-7, 67 points) continued their strong recent play with the man-advantage, taking a 1- 0 lead when Josh Liebenow one-timed Todd Griffith's feed past Scott Stirling at 8:11 of the first period.
Fresno (27-20-4, 58 points) answered with a power-play goal of their own at 3:31 of the second period, as John Wrobleski flipped home the rebound of a shot by Cory Murphy.
Both teams had chances at full strength and with the power-play, but neither could score again until the overtime goal by Morlang.
Notes: Rejean Beauchemin was assigned to the Condors today from the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms. Danny Taylor was re- assigned to Los Angeles, then assigned to the Wheeling Nailers. The Condors' unbeaten streak is now at nine games (6-0-3). Bakersfield is 5-0-2 against the Falcons this season, and every game has been decided by two goals or less, including two overtime and two shootout affairs.
Wednesday, the Condors travel up for a 7 p.m. showdown against Stockton. Then Friday, it's the first meeting of the year against the Phoenix RoadRunners, a 6:11 p.m. tilt in Phoenix. Bakersfield returns home Saturday, Feb. 24 for a re-match against the RoadRunners, and it's KGET-TV 17, The Big 96.5 KBKO & McDonald's Youth Jersey Giveaway night, with the first 2,000 children, 12-and-under, receiving a replica jersey of Condors defenseman Reagan Leslie.
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days.
