Clinton LumberKings News Release
Tuesday Recap
@ Clinton 7, Lansing 5 Starter Eric Hurley (10-3; 3.86) became the fifth pitcher in the Midwest League to reach ten wins this year with a six inning performance, holding the Lugnuts to two runs on four hits and a pair of walks while fanning eight, giving him the league's second best strikeout total (112 in 114.1 innings).
Andrew Wishy went deep in a 2-4 outing to drive in a pair of runs and Brandon Boggs drove in three while going 2-5. Eighteen year old catcher Alberto Martinez (.360 / .407 / .400) continued to impress, going 1-3 with a walk, scoring twice.
Daniel Touchet (0.00) tossed a scoreless seventh and Clinton's Billy Susdorf delivered a two-run double in the home half of that frame to give Clinton a 7-2 lead, but Lansing put an unearned run on the board in the eighth and got to Johnny Lujan for two runs in the ninth as the L-Kings held on for their second straight victory.
