Clinton 6 @ Fort Wayne 2 After trailing since starter John Bannister gave up two runs in the first inning, the LumberKings scored five runs in the ninth, getting a two-run double from Jim Fasano and a two-run single from 18 year old catcher Alberto Martinez.
Bannister (4.69 ERA) settled down after the first, putting up five goose eggs on three hits and seven walks overall before giving way to Kevin Altman (7-5; 5.97) who was perfect over the final three, fanning three to earn the victory.
Brandon Cashman went 2-4, stealing two bags and scoring once to post Clinton's only multi-hit game. Emerson Frostad tripled and walked, scoring once.

The LumberKings return home to Alliant Energy Field on Friday, August 19th as the in-state rival Cedar Rapids Kernels come to town.
