
Komets stop streaking Hogs

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets completed week 4 of the 2005-06 season earning 2 points in 3 games played over the weekend. Friday night the Komets dropped a 4-1 decision to the visiting Missouri River Otters. Saturday the Komets completed a weekend home double-header handing the visiting Rockford IceHogs their first loss of the season 3-1. The IceHogs brought a perfect 9-0-0 record into the game. Komet goalie Derek Dolson stopped 30 of 31 shots for his first UHL win as Dustin Virag (RW), P.C. Drouin (LW) and Guy Dupuis (D) scored for the Komets. Sunday the Komets traveled to Quad City and were turned back 6-3 by the Mallards.
This week the Komets will skate another 3-game weekend starting with a home tilt against the undefeated Muskegon Fury (9-0-0) Friday night at 8:00. Saturday the Komets travel to Rockford for the first of a home-and-home series against the IceHogs. Sunday the 2 teams return to Fort Wayne for a 5pm start at the Coliseum.

Streaking.....winger P.C. Drouin continues to ride a league-high 9-game point-scoring streak (2g, 9a) and 6-game road assist streak (7a).....winger Dustin Virag had a point in each game of the week for a 3-game point-scoring streak (1g, 2a).
