Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets scored a perfect 4 points for 2 games played during the week of Dec. 12. The week started with a 4-1 home victory over the Adirondack Frostbite Friday night. Skater Mark Smith (C) netted a pair in the game while David Carpentier (RW) and Lance Galbraith (LW) each tallied markers. Kevin St. Pierre (G) earned the win stopping 27 of 28 Frostbite shots.
Saturday the Komets traveled to Missouri and turned back the River Otters 5-2 at The Family Arena in St. Charles. Again, Smith started the scoring in the game for his team-leading 4th first goal of the season. Smith added 2 assists in the match for his 2nd 3-point outing of the season. Jonathan Goodwin (RW), Andrew Luciuk (C), P.C. Drouin (LW) and Kelly Miller (C) also tallied goals for the Komets. St. Pierre earned his 5th straight win making 39 saves on 41 shots.
The 2 wins and 4 points for the week improves the Komet's record on the season to 10-12-2 for 22 points after 24 games.
This week the Komets stay home to host the Rockford IceHogs Wednesday night at 7:30. Friday the Komets face the visiting Missouri River Otters before taking Saturday and Sunday off for the Christmas holiday. The Komets then play a rare Monday night game at Quad City in the first of a home-and-home series. Tuesday, Dec. 27 the Komets return home with the Mallards for a 7:30pm faceoff at the coliseum.
The Komets will conclude the 2005 portion of the 2005-06 season with a game at Kalamazoo Friday, Dec. 30 at 7:30pm before returning home to host the Roanoke Valley Vipers in the annual Komet New Year's Eve Game Saturday night, Dec. 31 at 7:30.

Streaking Komets.....goalie Kevin St. Pierre is riding a 5-game winning streak (7 ga, 1.40 gaa, 135/142, .951 spct) and improved to a UHL 3rd best overall goals-against average of 2.45 (from 2.61 at the start of the week) after 15 games (8-5-1).....P.C. Drouin has a 5-game point streak (3g, 4a, 7pts).
Player milestones.....Colin Chaulk (C) skated his 500th career game Friday, 12/16/05 vs. Adirondack.
Special K's.....the Komet's power play unit was successful on 4 of 11 power plays for a rating of 36.4% for the week, improving from 15.8% (8) to 17.2% (7) overall in 24 games. Komet penalty killers were successful on 11 of 12 kills to improve their overall success rating to 81.6% (9) from 80.9%.

Season Ticket Exchange Night Dec. 27.....the first season ticket exchange night is set for Tuesday, Dec. 27 when the Komets host the Quad City Mallards at 7:30pm. Komet season ticket holders can exchange unused tickets from previously scheduled Komet home games this season for tickets to the Dec. 27 Komet home game.
