12/16: MECHANICS WIN IN MUSKEGON FOR THE SECOND TIME IN EIGHT DAYS

Chris Gignac and Adam Edinger started the scoring for the Mechanics as they made their return trip to L.C. Walker Arena. Muskegon would respond with two unanswered goals to tie the game at 2-2 heading into the third period. Newly acquired, David Herring made his presence felt immediately as he was in the middle of all the action totaling 13 penalty minutes and scoring the game-winning goal just 2:36 into the third period. Edinger would score again followed by Tom Kotsopoulos who buried an empty net chance to seal the game as the Mechanics won 5-2. Rod Branch made his 13th start in a row and won his 13th game of the season making 28 saves, best in the UHL to date.

- THIS MARKS THE SECOND TIME WITHIN EIGHT DAYS THAT THE MECHANICS WON IN MUSKEGON. LAST SEASON THE MECHANICS NEVER WON AT L.C. WALKER ARENA.

- David Herring recorded his first points as a Mechanic since being acquired from Elmira on December 6th, tallied 1 goal and 1 assist.

- Adam Edinger has scored 6 goals in the last two games vs. the Fury and 7 goals this season vs. the Fury.

- 12/17: FLAGS SCORE TWO GOALS IN THE THIRD TO DEFEAT THE MECHANICS FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON

The Mechanics jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead just 2:40 into the game as Adam Edinger and David Herring scored. Adam Edingers' assist on Herrings' goal gave him 300 professional career points in just over 300 games played. The Flags, however, did not waver, as they would roll off three unanswered goals of their own. Peter Szabo scored early into the second tying the game 3-3 heading into the second intermission. The Flags would ice the game in the third as they scored early into the third and then again late in the third to take the game 5-3. Rod Branch made his 14th start in as many games and made 37 saves in the loss.

- 12/18: MECHANICS MOUNT THIRD PERIOD COMEBACK AND WIN IN A SHOOTOUT

The Mechanics would take the 1-0 lead with 5:25 remaining in the first when Mike Burgoyne tallied the goal. In the second period the Generals took control scoring two goals including one just 41 seconds into the period. At the start of the third period Matt Smith would tie the game at 2-2 when he skated in alone and fired a wrist shot beating Flint goaltender, Jason Saal. The game would end in a tie forcing a shootout. Both teams came out firing, as Flints Steve Makway would score for the Generals in round one while Adam Edinger scored in round two to tie it up. In round four Sean Starke would score for the Generals and once again the Mechanics responded with a goal by Greg Bullock. Bill Ruggiero stoned the sixth Flint shooter and subsequently, David Herring would net the game-winning goal for the Mechanics giving them the 3-2 win. Bill Ruggiero made his first start at the "Garage" and looked impressive making 33 saves including 4 saves in the shootout.

- With the goals by Matt Smith and Mike Burgoyne, the two lead all UHL defensemen in goals with 7.

- Danton Cole recorded his 80th UHL win.

- Bill Ruggiero recorded his first UHL win

- Through the three games played since being acquired on December 6th, David Herring has totaled 4 points.

Weekly Nominees

Player of the Week

The Mechanics nominate Center, Adam Edinger for the Sher-Wood Player of the Week. Edinger tallied six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in the three games the Mechanics played this week. Edinger finished with a +3 rating, notched 12 shots on goal, had 2 power play goals and scored a shootout goal in the victory over Flint.

Goaltender of the Week

The Mechanics nominate Bill Ruggiero as the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Week. Ruggiero finished the week with a 1-0-0 record, in 60 minutes played. Ruggiero made 33 saves on 35 shots for a .943 SV% and a 2.00 GAA in the lone game played this week. Ruggiero recorded his first UHL win with the shootout win over Flint.

Upcoming Week: Week Ten, Two Games

- Wednesday, December 21st: MECHANICS FACE THE KALAMAZOO WINGS

The Kalamazoo Wings come to town on Ladies Night, presented by 94.7 WCSX and MB Jewelers. The last time the Wings were here was on November 26th as the Mechanics won 4-1. The series is tied at one through two games played in the ten game season series. FACE-OFF: 7:30 PM

- Friday, December 23rd: THE MALLARDS COME QUACKING INTO THE "GARAGE"

The Mallards come into the "Garage" for the third time this season. Through the two games played at the "Garage" the Mechanics are outscoring the ducks 7-4 and lead the season series 2-1-1 in the six game season series. FRIDAY IS A RADIO DISNEY HOLIDAY WITH THE MECHANICS, AS RADIO DISNEYS' OWN, MISS FIRECRACKER WILL BE ON HAND. FACE-OFF: 7:30 PM
