December 19, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Motor City Mechanics News Release

FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics are excited to announce that the big man from Toledo, Ohio, Adam Edinger has been named the Sher-Wood Player of the Week for week nine in the UHL.

Edinger, 28, has been on a tear as of late scoring 19 goals for the season, which included an 8 game goal-scoring streak that saw him tally 13 goals through that streak.

His streak was snapped last Saturday December 10th when he was held scoreless against the Mallards. That did not stop the beast of a man from starting a new streak, as he would go on to score 3 more goals this week including 2 at Muskegon, where just a week prior he totaled 4 goals vs. the Fury. Edinger also keyed the Mechanics to the victory on Sunday as he scored a clutch shootout goal to tie in round two.

Not only has Edinger been scoring goals but he also reached a milestone as he assisted on David Herrings goal Saturday vs. Port Huron. The assist gave him his 300th professional point in just over 300 games played.

Overall Edinger tallied 6 total points this week (3 goals, 3 assists) in the three games played this week. He finished with a +3 rating, notched 12 shots on goal and had 2 PPG's. This is the fourth consecutive week Edinger has been nominated for this award.

Come see the player of the week as he and the rest of the Mechanics take on the Kalamazoo Wings this Wednesday the 21st at 7:30 p.m. and the Quad City Mallards on Friday the 23rd..

Wednesday is ladies night presented by 94.7 WCSX and MB Jewelers and Friday is a Radio Disney Holiday with the Mechanics.
