
Koenig Confident As Bullies Thump Chiefs 3-1

Johnstown, PA â Trevor Koenig stopped 29 shots in his Bullies debut and Atlantic City scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Johnstown Chiefs 3-1 before 1962 at the Cambria County War Memorial in ECHL action Friday. With the win, the Bullies snap a six-game road winless streak.
The clubs traded goals in the opening period. Johnstown (15-14-10) opened the scoring at 15:32 when Dimitri Tarabrin split the pads of Bullies goaltender Trevor Koenig with a shot from the right-wing circle to give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead. Atlantic City (23-13-6) came back to net the equalizer with a power play tally with just 10 seconds remaining in the period. Dan Peters fired a shot from the blue line that beat a screened Johnstown goaltender David Currie over the right shoulder at 19:50 to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the first intermission.
The Bullies took their first lead of the game at 11:08 of the second period. Kelsey Muench from behind the net centered the puck to Scott Horvath at the top of the crease, and Horvath tipped the puck beyond the outstretched pad of Currie to give the Bullies a 2-1 advantage.
Derek Edwardson increased the Bullies lead to 3-1 when his shot from the left-wing circle beat Currie over the left shoulder at 2:40 of the third period.
Johnstown out-shot Atlantic City 30-26. Koenig stopped 29 shots to earn the victory. He improves to 11-6-2 on the season. The Bullies went 1-6 on the power play.
