BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that defenseman Mike Martone (MAHR-tohn) has been activated off injured reserve.
Martone, 27, missed four games while on the injured reserve. The 6-foot-3 and 215-pound Martone has appeared in 35 games this season with Mississippi, tallying one goal, six assists and 56 penalty minutes. A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Martone is in his fourth professional season and fourth year with the Sea Wolves. Mississippi's alternate captain, Martone was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the fourth round, 106th overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
Martone and the Sea Wolves take to the ice at 7:35 p.m. tonight against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The game promotion features Military 2-for-1, sponsored by Keesler Federal Credit Union, which offers all military personnel, active or retired, two tickets for the price of one by showing military identification at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum box office.
