Dayton Bombers News Release
Dayton, OH â The Dayton Bombers dropped a 4-0 decision to the Reading Royals in front of 3,011 at the Nutter Center Sunday afternoon.
Mike Sandbeck opened the scoring at 11:55 of the first period. Tom Galvin made it 2-0 with a shorthanded goal at 16:03 of the second period. It was 3-0 after a powerplay goal from Larry Courville with 29 seconds remaining in period two.
Bombers starting goaltender Mike Ayers, who has started 18 straight games, was replaced after allowing 3 goals on 28 shots through 40 minutes. Simon Lajeunesse recorded seven third period saves, and allowed one goal to Ian Turner at 2:50 of the third period of play. The Bombers have now lost 5 straight games.
The Bombers return to action tomorrow night when they travel to Cricket Arena to face the Charlotte Checkers. Audio coverage begins at 7:00 PM at daytonbombers.com.
