Charlotte Knights News Release

(LAWRENCEVILLE, GA) -- Center fielder Adam Haseley doubled home left fielder Zach Remillard in the first inning and seven Charlotte Knights pitchers held the Gwinnett Stripers scoreless en route to a 1-0 shutout victory on Sunday in the finale of the six-game series from Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA. The shutout was Charlotte's first of the season and first since a 1-0 shutout win on August 31, 2021 against the Norfolk Tides.

Remillard led Sunday's game off with a single and quickly stole second base to give the Knights a runner in scoring position in the first inning. Remillard's stolen base was his 11th of the season, which tied Haseley for the team lead. With one out in the inning, Haseley then stepped to the plate and drove Remillard home with an RBI double, the only run of the game for either team. The run came off of Gwinnett starter Tucker Davidson (2-6, 4.41), who was saddled with the loss.

RHP Mike Wright started the game for the Knights, his second start since being activated off the injured list on Monday, July 4th. He pitched two scoreless innings for Charlotte and allowed just two hits. Wright was the first of seven pitchers for Charlotte on Sunday. All seven were spectacular, holding the Stripers scoreless over the nine-inning contest.

LHP Steven Moyers (1-0, 4.32) earned the win out of the bullpen. Charlotte's third pitcher of the afternoon allowed just two hits over two innings. RHP Parker Markel, Charlotte's seventh and final pitcher of the day, fanned two batters in the ninth to notch his first save of the season with the Knights.

In all, the Knights managed five hits on the afternoon and won for the second time in the six-game series.

The Knights have an off day on Monday and then will open a six-game home series on Tuesday against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. First pitch on Tuesday from the home of the Knights is set for 7:04 p.m. Long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and www.CharlotteKnights.com.
