Charlotte Knights News Release
(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Center fielder Clint Frazier launched two home runs, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game three of the six-game series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders by a score of 8-3 on Thursday night from Truist Field.
Since joining the Chicago White Sox as a free agent, Frazier has been on a tear with the Charlotte Knights. Appearing in his 15th game of the season on Thursday, Frazier launched a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning. The home run was his sixth of the season with Charlotte and second in as many days. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Frazier added another solo blast, his seventh of the season and third in his last two games.
Shortstop Lenyn Sosa also continued his strong season and ripped his fifth home run of the year. The home run - a solo blast in the bottom of the fourth inning - was his second in as many days. He had a team-high three hits on the evening and bumped up his batting average to .410 on the season.
RHP Sean Burke (0-3, 8.83), the number five prospect in the Chicago White Sox system, started Thursday's game and was charged with the loss. Burke allowed four runs (six earned) over five innings. LHP Tanner Banks was sharp in relief, going three scoreless innings. Additionally, RHP Declan Cronin added a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.
The RailRiders once again used the long ball, hitting three home runs in the game on Thursday night. Billy McKinney, Estevan Florial and Michael Hermosillo all homered in Thursday's game for the RailRiders.
RHP Will Warren (1-0, 3.00) was solid in his Triple-A debut. Warren, who earned the win for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, allowed just two runs over six innings in his first career Triple-A start.
The Knights will continue the six-game series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees) on Friday night. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action on www.CharlotteKnights.com. Fans can watch the game on the Bally Live app and MiLB.tv. First pitch on Friday is set for 7:04 p.m. from Uptown Charlotte.
