
Knights Drop Saturday's Game to Tides 11-6

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - Catcher Carlos Pérez launched his team-high ninth home run of the season, but a five-run eighth inning propelled the Norfolk Tides to an 11-6 win over the Charlotte Knights on Saturday night in game five of the six-game series from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte.
Pérez got the Knights on the scoreboard with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. The team added one more run in the inning thanks to an RBI double from Micker Adolfo. One inning later, the Knights took a 5-4 lead thanks to an RBI double from Yolbert Sánchez and an RBI single from Pérez.
Charlotte tacked on one more run along the way thanks to an RBI single off the bat of first baseman Ryder Jones, which tied the game at 6-6 in the sixth inning.
Two innings later, with the two teams tied at 6-6, the Tides scored five runs in the eighth inning against Charlotte RHP Rafael Dolis (0-1, 22.50), who was saddled with the loss. Dolis allowed a two-run single to Rylan Bannon, an RBI double to Kelvin Gutierrez and a two-run double to Jacob Nottingham in the inning.
Before the game, the Knights inducted Jordan Danks into the Charlotte Baseball Round Table of Honor during a pre-game ceremony.
The two teams will play the finale of the six-game series on Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. game from Truist Field. The game can be heard live on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and www.CharlotteKnights.com. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action.
