RED WINGS NOTES

TURN THE 6 UPSIDE DOWN ITS A 9: Due to weather, tonight's game ended after the top of the 6th...since the Wings were the home team and held a 1-0 lead over Lehigh Valley, tonight's game qualified as an official contest...the Wings get a crucial win to stay atop the IL East after dropping three out of the first four to the IronPigs...Rochester remains a league best 10-2 in one run games and Lehigh a league worst 0-8.

TETREAULT TOSSES GEM: After his first outing where he went four innings giving up just two runs with four Ks, RHP Jackson Tetreault had an even better performance tonight against Lehigh Valley...going five innings, allowing just two hits with five strikeouts...Tetreault now has a 1.98 ERA versus the Bacon men, a rare outlier on a team that had a collective ERA of 7.95 against the Pigs headed into tonight's game...the righty now has a 0.94 ERA in May, which is best amongst all qualified pitchers this month...his 42 strikeouts lead the team and his 9.00 Ks/9 is the best amongst all Red Wings starters.

CASEY-YA-LATER: In the bottom of the 3rd inning Donavan Casey hit an estimated 420-foot bomb to left field, his fourth of the year and first since April, 28th, 2022 versus Syracuse...Casey's run gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead, just the first time they have scored before Lehigh this series.

BENCHES CLEAR: In front of Frontier Field's largest crowd of the season (9,168) the benches cleared after a called strike three ended the inning stranding two runners...no punches were thrown and the sole ejection was Red Wings Manager Matt LeCroy.

BALDY IS SHINING: Before the rain it was LHP Alberto Baldonado with the shine...Baldy came into relieve the top of the 6th, he gave up zero runs and zero hits, striking out two of the three batters he faced...Baldy now has given up just one run in his last eight outings, accumulating a 1.25 ERA (1 ER over 7.2 innings)...in the shortened game Baldonado gets the save, his third of the year.

IRONPIGS NOTES

COLTON BEASTMAN: Colton Eastman went five innings, giving up just one run on two hits with five Ks...Eastman's one run came via a solo shot from Donovan Casey in the 3rd...Eastman remains winless on the year even though he has just a 3.98 ERA on the season.
