(ALLENTOWN, PA) -- The Charlotte Knights recorded five hits and dropped game two of the three-game series against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs by a score of 4-0 on Saturday night from Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA. The loss dropped the Knights to 2-11 in the second half of the season.
LHP Sammy Peralta (3-4, 4.29) started the game for the Knights and was sharp over four innings on Saturday. Peralta, who made his fifth start of the season, allowed just one run on two hits. He was saddled with the loss despite a strong effort.
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoán Moncada continued his major league rehab stint and started his second consecutive game with the Knights. He went 0-for-3 at the plate on Saturday with two strikeouts. Right fielder Víctor Reyes recorded one of Charlotte's five hits on the evening. For Reyes, the hit was his team-high 92nd of the season. He's batting a team-high .304 on the season.
A night after the IronPigs won the opener by a score of 8-0 on Friday, the team once again held the Knights scoreless on Saturday night. RHP Drew Hutchison (3-4, 6.34) started the game and earned the win after he tossed five shutout innings. Offensively, the 'Pigs used six hits to score four runs. The highlight of the game came in a three-run sixth inning for Lehigh Valley. Catcher Rafael Marchán had the big hit of the inning, a two-run ground-rule double. RHP Noah Skirrow earned his first save of the season with the 'Pigs.
The Knights will conclude the three-game series against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies) on Sunday afternoon. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad will have the call for all of the action on www.CharlotteKnights.com from Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA. First pitch is set for 1:35 p.m. on Sunday.
