
Kings Assign Kelly To Manchester; Medak Released

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the AHL affiliate of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned center Steve Kelly to the Monarchs. To make room on the roster, the Monarchs also today released right wing Judd Medak from his professional tryout agreement.
Kelly, 27, played in three games for the Kings this season (zero points and penalty minutes) after the club recalled him on November 26. In 15 games this season with the Monarchs, Kelly, at the time of his recall, was second on the team in scoring with 19 points (5-14=19). He also had 36 penalty minutes.
A native of Vancouver, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Kelly has 21 career points (9-12=21) and 83 penalty minutes in 146 career NHL regular season games with the Kings, the New Jersey Devils, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Edmonton Oilers.
Medak, 24, registered zero points and zero penalty minutes in three games with the Monarchs. The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, is expected to return to the Reading Royals of the ECHL, where he has 10 points (5-5=10) and 22 penalty minutes in 10 games thi season.
The Kings next visit the St. Louis Blues in St. Louis tonight at 8 p.m. (ET). That game will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net, ESPN Radio 710 - KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.
In addition, the Kings tonight will be wearing their Vintage gold sweaters from the 1980-81 season. Part of the Vintage Hockey Jersey Program series, tonight's game is the second of three "throwback" sweater nights. The Kings are set to wear the gold sweaters at STAPLES Center on December 16 (sponsored by The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - which comes to DVD on December 16).
The Monarchs return to the friendly confines of the Verizon Wireless Arena when they host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday, December 3 at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday's game marks the first of four straight for the Monarchs in Manchester. They are also scheduled to host the Lowell Lock Monsters at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, December 5, the Providence Bruins at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, and the Utah Grizzlies at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, December 12.
