Aaron Johnson Recalled By Columbus

Syracuse, NY (December 2, 2003) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Aaron Johnson. The team also announced that the American Hockey League has suspended defenseman Zenith Komarniski for two games.

Johnson, 20, has appeared in 20 games with Syracuse this season, recording two goals, six assists and 25 penalty minutes. A native of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, Johnson was Columbus' fourth pick, 85th overall, in the 2001 Entry Draft.

Johnson is expected to make his NHL debut tonight against the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

The American Hockey League suspend Komarniski, 25, for two regular season games as a result of receiving a match penalty in the November 28 game vs. Houston. Komarniski missed Syracuse's game in Binghamton and will miss the Crunch's game on Friday, December 5 in Toronto.

The Crunch travel to Toronto on Friday, December 5 for a 7 p.m. game.
