Kings Activate Willie Mitchell from IR

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated defenseman Willie Mitchell from the injured list and have placed forward Brad Richardson on the injured reserve list (retroactive to December 10), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Mitchell, 33, suffered an upper-body injury on November 6 at STAPLES Center during the Kings' victory against Nashville. He was placed on the injured list on November 9 (retroactive to November 7) and has missed the Kings' last 14 games. Mitchell is expected to be in the line-up tonight when the Kings play at Detroit.

In 13 games this season, his first with the Kings, he has five points (1-45) and five penalty minutes.

Richardson, 25, suffered an upper-body injury on December 9 at STAPLES Center during the Kings' victory against Calgary. In 26 games this season he has seven points (1-67) and 12 penalty minutes.
