Manchester Monarchs News Release
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated defenseman/assistant captain Matt Greene from the non-roster list and they have assigned defenseman Jake Muzzin to the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Greene is expected to be in the line-up for the Kings game tonight as they play at Colorado at 9 p.m. (ET).
Greene, 27, has not play this season after undergoing shoulder surgery during this past off-season. The 6-foot-3, 231-pounder from Grand Ledge, Michigan, is in his third season with the Kings, and in 308 career regular season NHL games with the Kings and Edmonton Oilers he has 36 points (5-3136) and 399 penalty minutes.
Muzzin, 21, has played in all six Kings games this season, his first in the NHL. He has one point (an assist) and zero penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 213 pound Muzzin is a native of Woodstock, Ontario. He was signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on January 4, 2010.
The Monarchs travel to the MassMutual Center to face-off with the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGAM 900/1250 AM and at www.manchestermonarchs.com.
