Estero, FL- In a third period collapse that featured allowing five goals in a 13-minute span, the Kalamazoo Wings suffered their worst defeat of the season, losing 9-3 Saturday night to the Florida Everblades.

Finding room in the high slot while on the power-play, Mike Ratchuk (8th) sent a slap shot past Riley Gill 3:30 into the opening period to give the Everblades an early 1-0 advantage.

Earning another man-advantage tally eight minutes into the second period Florida extended their lead on a rebound marker from Rylan Galiardi (14th).

Keeping up the pressure midway through the stanza, Trevor Bruess (14th) gave the `Blades a 3-0 lead when his wrist shot was initially stopped by Gill, but the rebound deflected off of a K-Wing defenseman and over the goal line.

Kalamazoo got on the scoreboard late in the period, when Kory Karlander (14th) rifled a one-timer past Pat Nagle for a five-on-three power-play goal 16:48 into the period.

Creating a turnover at the K-Wings blue line early in the third period, David Rutherford (20th) scored on a breakaway 1:07 into the third to give the Everblades a three-goal advantage.

Quickly cutting the deficit down to a single goal, Prab Rai (1st) netted his first goal of his pro career, followed by a shorthanded marker from Joe Charlebois (2nd) two minutes later.

Sparked by a power-play goal from Rutherford (21st), the Everblades scored five-unanswered goal in a span of 13 minutes, including two more from Galiardi, who recorded a hat trick in the victory.
