
Wranglers Win 5-1 Over Steelheads

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Idaho Steelheads 5-1 tonight in the first of a two-game road series.
Wranglers captain Mike Madill kicked off scoring tonight with a power play goal 16:33 minutes into the first. Exactly one minute later, Wranglers left wing Adam Miller scored a second power play goal for the team to give Las Vegas a 2-0 lead after outshooting Idaho 17 to 11. For his first goal of the season, Wranglers forward Jeff Hazelwood made it a 3-0 game just 36 seconds into the second, and a goal from center Judd Blackwater ended the period 4-0 in favor of Las Vegas.
The Steelheads got on the board midway through the third period, ending Wranglers goaltender Joe Fallon's shutout game on a goal from forward Derek LeBlanc. To make it a final score of 5-1, Wranglers left wing Robbie Smith netted a goal in the last four minutes of the game to collect the Las Vegas win. Madill, with a goal and an assist, and Fallon each received a Three Star honor.
The same two teams face off tomorrow night as the Wranglers continue a nine-game road series. When the team returns home on Sunday, March 18, Wranglers players will shave their heads on the ice to raise funds and awareness for St. Baldrick's Foundation.
