
Titans Sign Recchia; Thomas to Syracuse, Phillips Returns

TRENTON, N.J. - The Trenton Titans announced the signing of former Johnson & Wales University star defenseman Domenic Recchia.
In addition, veteran defenseman Andy Thomas has been loaned to Syracuse (AHL) and goalie Brad Phillips has returned to the Titans from Adirondack (AHL).
"Domenic was one of the best defensemen in the nation this year and we're very excited to get him this chance," said Johnson & Wales head coach Erik Noack.
As a senior, the 23-year-old Recchia was second in the nation in scoring among defenseman with four goals and 30 assists for 34 points. At Johnson & Wales, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound blue-liner appeared in 106 games, scoring 12 goals with 85 assists for 97 points.
The Sterling Heights, Mich., native was a two-year captain and a two-time First-Team ECAC Northeast selection, He was also a standout academically, earning Dean's List mention every trimester and earning three straight appearances on the ECAC Northeast All-Academic squad
The Titans open a four-game southern road swing tonight, visiting the Gwinnett Gladiators. The trip continues at Greenville Saturday night and a return to Gwinnett Sunday afternoon. The Titans will then face visit South Carolina Tuesday evening before returning home to face Elmira Friday, March 9.
