Trenton Titans News Release

DULUTH, Ga. - With just over 10 minutes remaining, the Trenton Titans were leading 6-4 and apparently on their way to a needed victory over the Gwinnett Gladiators.

But, in one of the most frustrating losses of the season, the Titans (19-30-3-5-46) saw the Gladiators (31-17-7-4-73) score four goals - erase their second two-goal deficit of the evening, and, with a late empty-net goal, snatch an 8-6 win over the Titans.

The Titans scored first on a goal by Tyler Hostetter 8:53 into the game, but, setting the tone for the night, Pat Galivan knotted matters nine seconds later. Matt Germain gave the Titans a 2-1 lead with his 12th goal with 2:53 remaining in the first period.

Gwinnett's Tyler Murovich tied matters for the Gladiators with a power-play goal 24 seconds into the second period, but the Titans scored the next two goals - Ryan Hayes' 18th and Randy Rowe's 15th - to take a 4-2 lead with 11:55 remaining in the second.

The Gladiators erased that disadvantage in 2:29 on goals by Bryan Brutlag and Murovich, his second of the night. The second period ended in a 4-4 tie.

Chris Poli's second goal and Andy Bohmbach's 21st gave the Titans a 6-4 lead with 15:15 remaining, but the Gladiators, with a power-play tally by Andy Brandt with 11:26 remaining and a goal by Corey Finehage tied the game at 6-6 with 5:05 remaining.

Gallivan's second of the night was the Gwinnett game-winner with 1:45 remaining, with Justin Milo's garnering an empty-net goal with 32 seconds left.

Gallivan, Murovich and Milo were the Stars of the Night in that order.

The Titans' four-game southern trip continues at Greenville Saturday night. Jean Menard (48).
