
Road Warriors Slip Past Stingrays in Overtime

Greenville, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays (32-22-4-1) fell to the Greenville Road Warriors (35-20-2-2) 2-1 in overtime Friday evening at the Bi-Lo Center.
After a scoreless first period, Stingrays forward Daniel Koger put the Stingrays up 1-0 at 5:11 of the second frame slipping a wrist shot past the right pad of Road Warriors goaltender Jason Missiaen (W, 27 saves on 28 shots) from the bottom of the right-wing circle. Forwards Mike Hamilton and Josh Turnbull earned assists.
Road Warriors forward Brandon Wong tied the contest with 1:34 left in the third period sliding a shot under the right pad of Stingrays netminder Philipp Grubauer (OTL, 29 saves on 31 shots). Forward Justin Bowers grabbed the lone assist.
In overtime, Bowers completed the comeback knocking a rebound past Grubauer at 4:25 from defensemen Wes Cunningham and Lee Baldwin . The Stingrays finished the night 0-for-3 on the power play while the Road Warriors went 0-for-5.
The Stingrays wrap up their regular-season series against the Gwinnett Gladiators tomorrow, Saturday, March 3 at 7:05 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.
