IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals and the Reading Royals play the first of three-straight games against one another, starting the weekend tonight at First Arena at 7:35 p.m. The Jackals are tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with the Greenville Road Warriors at 72 points after defeating the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday evening, 3-2. The victory extended Elmira's division lead over Wheeling to three points. The Royals are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 59 points, two shy of the eight and final playoff spot as the month of March begins.

GAZLEY GOES FOR 16 TONIGHT

Dustin Gazley will attempt to become the first ECHL skater this season to record a 16-game point streak tonight. After being held without a point on Feb. 1, Gazley ended February with points in 15-straight contests (8g-14a). Gazley is tied with Gwinnett forward Nikita Kashirsky and Las Vegas forward Eric Lampe for the longest point streak by an ECHL skater in 2011-2012. The longest point streak by any Jackal in an ECHL campaign is 17 games, set by Tyler Donati in his MVP season of 2009-2010. Donati notched 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points during his run that season, which stretched from Jan. 22 to Mar. 5.

ROYAL RUMBLE

The Jackals and the Royals will play three-straight games against each other this weekend for the first time since Nov. 11 - 13. The two clubs will head to the Sovereign Center in Reading tomorrow before returning to First Arena on Sunday. Elmira is currently on a nine-game point streak against Reading, having not fallen in regulation to the Royals since Nov. 13. The Jackals are 8-2-2-0 versus the Royals in 2011-2012.
