
K-Wings' Karlander and Daavettila Receive League Honor

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce that forwards Kory Karlander and Trent Daavettila have been named to the All-ECHL Team.
Named to the first-team, Karlander ranks second in scoring on the K-Wings with 77 points (32 goals, 45 assists). Kalamazoo's assistant captain has also been able to score in the clutch, earning six game-winning goals, which ranks second in the ECHL, behind the K-Wings' Andrew Fournier (10).
Becoming red-hot in the second half of the season, Daavettila was named to the league's second-All-ECHL team. Leading the K-Wings in scoring with 78 points (30 goals, 48 assists), Daavettila also leads the ECHL in plus/minus with a +27.
Karlander and Daavettila become the first two members of the K-Wings to ever be named to either the ECHL's First or Second Teams during Kalamazoo's two years in the ECHL.

After finishing the road portion of their 2010-11 regular season tomorrow, Friday, April 1st with a 7:30 p.m. encounter against the Cincinnati Cyclones at the U.S. Bank Arena, the K-Wings will return home this Saturday, April 2nd to conclude the regular season with a 7:30 p.m. contest versus the Elmira Jackals.
Saturday's contest will be another Saturday "Celebrity" Series featuring members of Kalamazoo and Portage Fire and Police Departments. During the game, Harold Zeigler Automotive Group will announce the winner of a FREE 24-month lease of a 2011 Honda Civic, a giveaway of a trip for two from Direct Air plus Kalsee Credit Union will have their annual cold hard cash drop. After the game, the K-Wings will announce the fan-voted player awards and a special auction for this year's Sunday Slappy jerseys.
Single-game tickets for the final regular season home game, round one of the Kelly Cup playoffs and Season Tickets for the 2011-12 season are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office.
