Kalamazoo Adds WPHL Sniper and MVP Chris Brooks

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announce the signing of center Chris Brooks.

While many Kalamazoo natives will know Brooks for his college career at Western Michigan University, Chris biggest impact was made as a professional in the former Western Professional Hockey League.

As a member Amarillo Rattlers, Brooks shined scoring over 100 points in both seasons with the Rattlers. During the 96-97 season, Chris tallied 110 points, which earned him the leagues scoring championship and MVP.

"We believe Chris will help us offensively," said General Manager/Head Coach Paul Pickard. "Brooks is an outstanding player that has produced everywhere he has been."

Even through his college years (92-96) and continuing in to his three seasons as a professional, Brooks has proved to be a point-a-night player throughout his career. After the 99 season, Brooks left the Rattlers to become an Assistant Coach at Western Michigan University.

Brooks will continue his role as Assistant Coach at Western Michigan while playing for the K-Wings. Chris's first game with the K-Wings will be tonight, as the K-Wings host the Flint Generals in a crucial game in the playoff race. Game time tonight against Flint will be at 7:00 PM.

Tickets for the Flint game, and all K-Wings home games are currently on sale by calling the Wings Stadium Box Office at (269) 345-5101.
