Arkansas' Bermingham Named Sher-Wood ECHL Player of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jason Bermingham of the Arkansas RiverBlades is the Sher-Wood East Coast Hockey League Player of the Month for January.

The 6-0 and 195-pound Bermingham scored 19 points while helping Arkansas go 8-0-2, the first time in the team's four-year history that it has gone an entire month without a loss in regulation.

Bermingham scored a team-high four game-winning goals in January while also leading the team in power-play goals (4), goals (11), and plus-minus (+12).

He scored a goal in each of Arkansas' first six games in the month and finished the month with a goal in eight of the 10 games and he had three games with two goals. Arkansas was 7-0-1 when Bermingham scored a goal and 3-0-0 when he scored multiple goals. He had seven multiple-point games helping Arkansas go 7-0-0 and was held scoreless only once in January, a 2-1 overtime loss at Louisiana on January 19.

Bermingham is tied for fifth in the ECHL with 12 power-play goals and is tied for 14th in scoring with 55 points (26g-29a) in 47 games. He scored a goal in seven consecutive home games beginning December 27 and ending January 24, the longest home goal scoring streak in the ECHL in 2002-03. The 26-year-old Bermingham leads the RiverBlades with 26 goals and is tied for the team lead with four game-winning goals.

In his third season with Arkansas, Bermingham led the team in 2001-02 with 30 goals and 59 points while tying for the team lead with six game-winning goals.
