Last time out...

The Florence Freedom (21-25) took an early lead but couldn't hold on in an 8-5 loss to the Frontier Greys (13-35) Thursday night. It was the Freedom getting on the board in the second inning. With one out, Chance Ross singled and Rob Kelly doubled him to third. Ben Kline stepped to the plate and delivered a two-RBI single to put Florence on top 2-0. But in the sixth, with Florence holding on to a 2-1 lead, it all came undone. Michael Vaughn and Jon Minucci smacked back-to-back singles to start the frame. That's when Frank Florio launched a three-run home run to put the Greys up 4-2. That was it for Michael O'Neal and Pete Levitt entered the game for Florence. He surrendered a long ball to Greg Bachman and it was 5-2 Greys. One out later Chase Tucker doubled and Chris Ellison singled him home. After Joe Rapp walked, an error led to another run and when the dust cleared it was 7-2 Greys.

For Starters...

Casey Henn makes his 10th start of the year tonight for the Freedom and his third against the Wild Things. He suffered a tough-luck 6-4 defeat in his most recent start on July 5 against Washington. In that start he went six innings, giving up four runs but only one was earned. He walked four and struck out eight in the loss. His previous start against Washington came on May 17 as he took a no-decision in a 6-5 victory. In that start he went six innings, scattering seven hits and giving up three runs. Henn has 13 strike outs in 12 innings against Washington so far this season. He leads all Freedom pitchers in strikeouts with 54 on the season, fifth most in the Frontier League. Henn had a sensational rookie season for the Freedom, posting a 5-0 record with a 3.67 ERA for Florence fresh out of Wright State University. In nine appearances, eight starts, Henn struck out 38 batters in 49 innings while only allowing only 39 hits.

Wild success...

Road woes...

One is good, six is bad...

It's the most runs they've scored in a particular inning this season and their largest positive run differential in an inning. However, they have been out-scored by a count of 32-17 in the sixth inning this season, their largest negative run differential of any inning.

Walk this way...

All-Star Joe Staley leads the team and is fourth in the Frontier League in walks with 34.

Making the most of his hits...

Rob Kelly is six for his last 31 at the plate but three of those six hits have been home runs.
