ALBANY, NY - Center Oscar Moller scored two goals in the contest and goaltender Martin Jones stopped all 26 shots on goal as the Manchester Monarchs blanked the Albany Devils by a 4-0 score Saturday night at the Times Union Center.

Manchester (31-16-1-4, 67 points) collected their 31st victory of the season, remaining in first place in the Atlantic Division with 67 points. Albany (18-27-0-3, 39 points) lost their 27th game of the season, remaining in seventh place in the East Division with 39 points.

"Our game tonight was solid," said Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris. "Again, our penalty kill was outstanding. ‘Jonesy' helped us weather the storm and some pretty passing plays on our power play set up some great goals."

"The guys capitalized on our chances and all four lines contributed. Our puck movement was good and we made smart decisions on both sides of the puck," explained Morris. "Three out of four points isn't a bad weekend on the road."

Left wing Dwight King scored his 14th goal of the season at 5:05 of the first period. From the left side boards, left wing Bud Holloway sent a feed across the slot to defenseman Patrick Mullen, who had crept in from the right point. From the bottom of the right faceoff circle, Mullen passed the puck leftward to a streaking King, who fired a one-timer past Devils goaltender Mike McKenna for the first goal of the game.

Moller scored his 12th goal of the season at 10:14 of the first period, extending the Monarchs lead to 2-0. Defenseman Thomas Hickey dumped the puck behind the Albany goal, where Moller collected it within the trapezoid. Moller passed the puck to his right where center Marc-Andre Cliche was positioned. Both players skated around their respective side of the net, and Cliche passed the puck from left to right across the crease to Moller, who casually tapped the puck home for the Monarchs second goal of the game.

Moller scored his second goal of the game at 11:29 of the second period. Attempting to clear the puck from the defensive zone, center Jordan Nolan intercepted the pass in the neutral zone and quickly shoveled the puck over to defenseman Colten Teubert. On the fly, Teubert connected with Moller, who eluded a defenseman, skating in on a breakaway and beating McKenna top shelf for the Monarchs third goal of the game.

Holloway scored his team-leading 16th goal of the season at 10:36 of the third period. Positioned along the right side boards, Mullen passed the puck to his defensive partner Hickey at the top of the slot. A powerful blast by Hickey whistled past the goal wide. Holloway collected the rebound off the glass and skated around the net, eluding several Albany skaters in the process. Cutting toward the slot from the left wing corner, Holloway wristed a shot past McKenna for the fourth Monarchs goal of the game.

Jones (18-5-1) collects his 18th victory of the season, stopping all 26 shots on net in the contest. McKenna (8-13-0) drew his 13th defeat of the season, halting 18-of-22 shots on goal.

Manchester went 2-for-6 on the power play. Albany went 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
