Norfolk Admirals News Release
NORFOLK, Va. - Roman Wick scored with 13 seconds remaining as the Norfolk Admirals (25-15-8-3) fell to the Binghamton Senators (25-20-3-3), 3-2, on Saturday night at Norfolk Scope Arena. Next up for the Admirals is a weekend set of home games against the Syracuse Crunch next Friday and Saturday.
Blair Jones and Pierre-Cedric Labrie scored for the Admirals while Dustin Tokarski took the loss stopping 17 of 20 shots.
Binghamton's Derek Smith opened scoring with a five-on-three power play goal 18:53 into the first period. Jones tied the game at 1-1 with his fifteenth goal of the season 12:35 into the second stanza.
Smith's second goal of the contest gave the visitors a 2-1 lead 1:01 into the final frame. The lead was short-lived, as Labrie netted his fifth tally of 2010-11 just 54 seconds later to knot the score at two goals apiece.
With time winding down in regulation, the puck squirted loose from a battle along the left wall in the Norfolk zone and traveled into the slot. Wick sent a one-timer from the high slot into the net at 19:47 for the game-winning tally.
Dustin Tokarski (20 shots, 17 saves) took the loss. Barry Brust (34 shots, 32 saves) earned the win.
Norfolk was 0-2 on the power play. Binghamton was 1-4.
