Minnesota Wild Recalls Cody Almond and Justin Falk

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Cody Almond and defenseman Justin Falk from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

This marks the fourth time Almond, 21 (7/24/89), has been recalled by the Wild. He has skated in four contests with Minnesota this season averaging 6:02 in time on ice per game. The 6-foot-2, 217-pound native of Calgary, Alta., has posted 22 points (10-12-22) in 46 games for the Aeros and is tied for fourth in team scoring. Almond is also tied for the team lead with six power-play goals and is second with 86 penalty minutes (PIM). Highlights this season for Almond inclue notching three points (1-2-3) on Dec. 2 vs. Rockford, scoring the overtime game-winner at Texas on Dec. 4, registering a pair of goals on Dec. 17 vs. Manitoba and scoring the shootout-winning goal on Dec. 26 against Texas. He has posted four multi-point games this season for the Aeros.

Falk, 22 (10/11/88), started the season with the Wild and posted two assists while accruing six penalty minutes in 18 games with Minnesota. The 6-foot-5, 217-pound native of Snowflake, Man., averaged 14:51 time on ice (TOI) with the Wild. This marks the second time he has been recalled by Minnesota. Falk has tallied six points (1-5-6) a +4 rating and 25 PIM in 29 games with Houston this season.

The Wild visits the Phoenix Coyotes tonight at 7 p.m.

The Aeros begin a four-game run away from Toyota Center with a return matchup against the Texas Stars at the Cedar Park Center on Tuesday night. From there, they visit Rockford on Wednesday, Peoria on Friday and then play host to Peoria at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Sunday.
