Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Tulsa Oilers on Friday night in front of a crowd of 3,730 at Allen Event Center.
Pavel Jenys scored both Allen goals, with both coming in the second period, and his second of the night coming on the power play. Unfortunately, that would be all the offense the Americans had on Friday night as the club lost their eighth in a row, falling to 3-10-0-2 for the season.
"I was just out there trying to help the team win the game," said Americans forward Pavel Jenys. "We played a great second period but struggled in the third. We get another chance tomorrow night in their building."
Former Americans defenseman Steve Kaunisto had the game winner for Tulsa in the third period, his first goal of the season. CJ Motte suffered the loss for Allen, despite the fact he stopped 37 of the 40 shots he faced.
The Americans went 1 for 2 on the power play while Tulsa was 1 for 5. Allen was outshot 15 to 4 in the final period. Allen is now 0-6-0 at home this season.
The same two clubs battle it out tomorrow night at the BOK Center. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm. Allen returns home on November 30th to face the Wichita Thunder.
