Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Jeff State and forward Doug Christiansen have been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. This marks the second time this season that State has gone to Bridgeport. He was loaned to the Sound Tigers on November 18 and played three games with Bridgeport during which he picked up an assist and was involved in two fights before being returned to the Royals on November 22. Over the course of the season, State has yet to register a point for the Royals but has picked up 64 penalty minutes and is playing at a plus 3 through 16 games. This marks the first trip to the AHL this season for Christiansen, who played a game with the Sound Tigers last year. In nineteen games with the Royals this year, Christiansen has scored nine goals, assisted on five others and picked up 54 penalty minutes.

The Royals host another "Rock The House Weekend" with Y102 Saturday night (7:00 pm) and Sunday afternoon (1:00 pm) when the Fresno Falcons are in Reading for the first time in history. Any patron who purchases a full price ticket to Saturday's game can get the same seat to Sunday's game for only $5.00. On Saturday, the first fifteen hundred fans 21 and older will receive Yuengling Hats, courtesy of All Star Distributing. Sunday's game is sponsored by Advance Auto Parts, and the first twenty five hundred fans in attendance will receive a Royals Poster, courtesy of the Reading Eagle; and the first two thousand fans will receive Comcast Thundersticks.
