Jamie Ramsey to Appear on Dragons TV Friday

DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Dragons game on Friday, July 2nd against the Great Lakes Loons will be televised on WHIO Digital Channel 7.2 (Time Warner Basic Cable Channel 23 and Digital Channel 372). Jamie Ramsey, author of the popular blog "Better Off Red" and Assistant Director of Media Relations for the Cincinnati Reds, will serve as the guest commentator on the broadcast. Dragons Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Tom Nichols will handle the play-by-play.
Ramsey is in his 10th season in the Reds Media Relations Department and his 14th year as part of the Reds organization. He is a native of Hamilton, Ohio and a graduate of Miami University.
"Better Off Red" is one of two blogs available at www.reds.com . Loaded with photos, it provides an insider's view into Reds baseball in traditional as well as off-beat themes. The blog includes a daily offering of baseball information including the Reds Farm Report mixed with fun photos and interesting tidbits.
The Dragons will televise 15 games this season from Fifth Third Field. The games are coordinated by the Dragons in-house production department. Sean Coffman serves as Executive Director of the telecasts. Other guest commentators this season have included former Reds players Bill Doran, Eddie Milner, Doug Bair, and Chris Sexton, hall-of-fame writer Hal McCoy, former Reds executive Grant Griesser, and WHIO TV Sports Director Mike Hartsock. Former Reds player, coach, and manager Tommy Helms is scheduled to provide commentary on the next telecast on July 23rd.
