INDIANAPOLIS - Six years and multiple setbacks after being selected second overall by the Pirates in the 2010 draft, Indianapolis Indians pitcher Jameson Taillon is set to make his Major League debut tonight in Pittsburgh at 7:05 p.m. against the New York Mets, as announced by Pirates officials on Tuesday.

Taillon went 5-5 with a 2.74 ERA in 16 total games with Indianapolis between the 2013 and '16 campaigns. At the time of his call-up, the right-hander was fifth in the International League with a 2.04 ERA this season, and led all starting pitchers in WHIP (0.81), walks per nine innings (0.88), and opponent batting average (.196).

The Lakeland, Fla., native was ranked the No. 2 prospect in the Pirates organization when he was forced to undergo 'Tommy John' surgery in 2014. He worked his way back late the next season, only to suffer another setback with a season-ending sports hernia in 2015.

The Indians will face off with Columbus today at 12:05 p.m. The Tribe returns home on Friday to host Syracuse at 7:15 p.m.
