Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Rochester Red Wings first game of a two-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). This series is part of a four-game home-and-home with the Red Wings with Rochester winning the last two nights at Frontier Field. The Bisons will also face the Knights and Bulls in this eight-game homestand.

Last Game (ROC 5, BUF 2)

Buffalo left 11 men on base in a 5-2 loss to the Red Wings last night. The Bisons had 12 hits on the night, but went just 3 for 13 with runners in scoring position. INF David Adams had three hits on the night. LHP Scott Diamond fell to 4-6 on the season despite six strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.

vs. Rochester (3-7)

The Bisons defeated the Red Wings in the Coca-Cola Field Home Opener, 2-1, on April 14. Since then, Rochester has won seven of the nine games in this rivalry. The teams will meet 19 total times this season with a July 4 game at Frontier Field next on the schedule.

Wade LeBlanc

LHP Wade LeBlanc is the IL leader in ERA (1.57) and is tied for the lead with six wins. The southpaw has allowed three or fewer runs in all 11 of his starts this season and has a "quality start' in each of his last six outings. LeBlanc saw his consecutive innings without an earned run snapped at 33.2IP in his last start, June 2 vs. Syracuse, but still delivered a win over Syracuse with six innings of three-run baseball.

Dalton Pompey

OF Dalton Pompey brings a nine-game hit streak into today's game. Since May 24, the outfielder has averaged .394 (15-38) with three doubles, six RBI, seven walks and five runs scored. Pompey has also hit in 19 of his last 22 games overall and leads the Bisons with seven stolen bases.

David Adams

INF David Adams has a hit in 17 of his last 20 games with an at-bat. Since April 24, the infielder has averaged .444 (21-54) with six doubles and 12 walks. On the season, Adams has walked 18 times to only 19 strikeouts. He has a .410 on-base pct. so far this season.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons have a winning record at home (14-12) and on the road (17-15)...RHP Ben Rowen has not allowed a run in his last 10 appearances. The reliever has allowed five hits while striking out nine in his last 12.0 innings...The Bisons have the two pitchers with the most work in the International League. LHP Scott Diamond 74.0 innings top the circuit, 5.1 innings ahead of LHP Wade LeBlanc.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays' (31-28) are in action this afternoon against the Tigers in Detroit (1:08 p.m. first pitch). Toronto lost 3-2 in 10 innings last night as Detroit scored twice in the ninth to force extras. That spoiled a fantastic outing from former Bisons RHP Aaron Sanchez, who struck out 12 batters and allowed just three hits in eight-plus innings.
