DURHAM, NC - The Norfolk Tides scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning as they came back to beat the Durham Bulls 6-2 Wednesday night at the DBAP.

Trailing 2-1 entering the ninth inning, Norfolk (21-39) took the lead on a bases-loaded, two-run single by Chris O'Brien. Sharlon Schoop then scored on a fielder's choice, and LJ Hoes drove home two with a two-out single to right field for a four-run advantage.

The Bulls (27-34) were three outs away from victory, as Richie Shaffer hit a go-ahead, two-run dinger in the bottom of the eighth inning after Jaff Decker walked. Hoes had put the game's first run on the board when he homered to center field leading off the sixth inning.

Pedro Beato (3-2) earned the win, despite surrendering two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, while Dylan Floro (0-1) absorbed the loss by allowing four runs (three earned) in the ninth. Adam Wilk was brilliant in his start for the Bulls, turning in seven innings of one-run ball, striking out a career-high 10 batters and allowing just four hits.

Logan Forsythe went 1-for-2 with a walk in the first game of his MLB rehab appearance with Durham, while JP Arencibia, Jake Goebbert, Luke Maile and Cameron Seitzer all singled in the team's six-hit attack.

The Bulls and Tides wrap their series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at the DBAP. LHP Justin Marks (2-4, 4.11) will start for Durham, while RHP Joe Gunkel (2-3, 3.89) will take the mound for Norfolk.
