Bakersfield Jam News Release

BOISE - The Bakersfield Jam (6-5) overcame a slow start to beat the Idaho Stampede (3-10) 103-92 Friday night at CenturyLink Arena. Xavier Munford had a stellar performance with a game-high 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting.

The Jam started the game shooting just 18.2 percent in the first quarter, scoring only 10 points, and continued the slump to begin the second period. Trailing by 11 points at the 5:04 mark, Bakersfield went on a 12-2 run to cut their deficit to single digits and went into the half down 49-46.

The third quarter saw the Jam grab their first lead of the game with under nine minutes to go, thanks to a Terrico White three-pointer. From that point, both teams battled back and forth with the Stampede taking a 75-74 lead into the fourth. Bakersfield controlled the final frame as they shot 50 percent from the field, compared to Idaho's 22.2 percent, and outscored the Stampede 29-17.

Earl Clark had 19 points and eight rebounds while Terrico White posted a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Brandon Fields led the Stampede with 22 points while Tibor Pleiss, on assignment from the Utah Jazz, recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Minnesota Timberwolves assignee Tyus Jones finished with 15 points.

Both teams will remain in Boise and face each other again tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. PT.
