
Lorenzo Brown Nearly Has Triple-Double as Drive Tops Canton Charge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Lorenzo Brown came one rebound short of his first triple-double and Devin Ebanks tied his season high with 25 points as the Grand Rapids Drive beat the Canton Charge 111-96 on Saturday night at the DeltaPlex Arena.
Grand Rapids, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, improves to 5-6 and wins back-to-back games for the first time this season. Canton, the affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, falls to 3-7.
Brown, a guard out of North Carolina State, finished with 10 points 12 assists and 9 rebounds. It is the third-straight game he's had double figures in assists.
Ebanks, who only had two points in the first half, drained five 3-pointers in the second half for 25 points. He was followed by Dahntay Jones with 19 points, Kam Holsey (15) and Henry Sims (14).
Guard Quinn Cook led Canton with 17 points off the bench. He was followed by D.J. Stephens (15), Nick Minnerath (15) and Joe Harris (12).
Midway through the third quarter, Brown stole the ball and threw down a tomahawk dunk over two Canton defenders that got the crowd on its feet and a 73-51 lead.
All 10 Drive players scored in the first half as the Grand Rapids led 52-48 at the break.
Holsey scored two quick field goals as Grand Rapids went on a 9-0 run to start the second quarter and take a 35-23 lead.
Minnerath, a 6-foot-9 forward out of Detroit Mercy, hit two free throws and drained a 3-pointer to help the Charge cut the lead to 41-34 in the second quarter. Stephens got a nice pass in the paint from Michael Stockton for a thunderous dunk. He got up so high and held on to the rim so long that the ball came through the rim and down on his outstretched legs.
Harris drilled his first jump shot of the game. But his next two shots were blocked by Henry Sims and Sam Thompson. Harris scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half.
Canton continues its three-game road trip to the West Coast on Dec. 15 to play the Santa Cruz Warriors for a 10 p.m. EST start. Grand Rapids hosts the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Sunday for a 4 p.m. start.
