
J.P. Lamoureux Named ECHL Goaltender of Week

Boise, Idaho - The ECHL announced today that J.P. Lamoureux of the Utah Grizzlies is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for December 27-January 2.
The 26-year-old was 2-0-0 with two shutouts, a goals-against-average of 0.00 and a save percentage of 1.000 in two starts against Victoria last week as the Grizzlies ran their record to 19-9-3-1 with a 4-0 week. Lamoureux made 23 saves in a 1-0 victory on Friday and turned aside 27 shots in a 2-0 win on Saturday.
Lamoureux is 10-6-1-0 and tied for the league lead with three shutouts. His 2.44 goals-against-average is fifth in the league and a save percentage of .917 is sixth. He has also appeared in two games with Abbotsford of the AHL earlier this year, going 1-0-0-1 with a 2.89 goals-against average and a save percentage of .895.
In 2008-09, Lamoureux was named ECHL Goaltender of the Year with Alaska after going 33-16-2 with eight shutouts, a goals-against-average of 2.29 and a .923 save percentage.
He helped lead the Aces to the 2009 Kelly Cup Finals with a postseason record of 15-5, four shutouts, a 1.95 goals-against-average and a save percentage of .934.
Last season, Lamoureux appeared in 31 games with Portland of the AHL where he went 14-12-2 with two shutouts, a goals-against-average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .894.
A native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Lamoureux led the University of North Dakota to the 2008 Frozen Four with a record of 27-11-4.
The Grizzlies, sitting atop the Western Conference, play four road games this week starting tonight in Boise at 7:10 p.m. They return home for four-straight contests beginning Wednesday, January 12.
