Evan Rankin Signs PTO with Grand Rapids

(Toledo, OH) - The Toledo Walleye and head Coach Nick Vitucci announced today that forward Evan Rankin has signed a Player Tryout Agreement with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

This will be the first trip to the AHL this year for Evan. Last season, Rankin appeared in four AHL games with Manitoba, scoring one goal. This season with Toledo, Rankin has scored 12 goals while collecting 12 assists in 30 games. He is a plus three in those games. Grand Rapids will host Hamilton on Wednesday January 5th.

The Toledo Walleye will be back at home Friday, January 7th at 7:00 PM vs. the Reading Royals at the Huntington Center. Tickets are on sale for that contest and all remaining home games. Fans can call (419) 725-WALL or visit www.toledowalleye.com for more information.

The Toledo Walleye play all of their home games at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo. The Walleye are the proud ECHL affiliate of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings.
