Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The ECHL announced today that Las Vegas Wranglersé GM/Head Coach Ryan Mougenel has been selected to lead the 2011 All-Star Team alongside Dean Stork of the Greenville Road Warriors.
Mougenel's selection was based on votes from league coaches as well as consideration of winning percentage and marks his first time coaching the All-Star Team. Nine coaches of the ECHL All-Star game have continued on to coach in the NHL.
Mougenel is in the midst of his second season as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Wranglers, with his initial season resulting in a 34-30-8 regular season record and a spot in the playoffs for the Wranglers' sixth time in seven seasons. Previously, Mougenel was an assistant coach for four years in the ECHL with Fresno and Stockton, and played in the league for multiple teams including Atlantic City, Chesapeake, Hampton Roads and Jackson. He was an integral part of the Atlantic City team that won the Kelley Cup Championship in 2003.
The 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic presented by CCM will be hosted by the Bakersfield Condors at Rabobank Arena on Jan. 26, 2011 and will feature the host team taking on a team of ECHL All-Stars.
The Las Vegas Wranglersé are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.
2010-11 prorated season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located adjacent to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
