Alaska's Howes Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Alaska Aces forward Scott Howes is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week of December 27-January 2.

The 23 year old finished the week with six points (3g-3a) as the Aces went 4-0-0 to improve their overall record to 19-9-1 for 39 points and moved to within three points of first-place Utah.

Howes had one assist in a 3-1 win over Idaho on Wednesday, scored two goals and added an assist in a 5-3 win against Ontario on Friday and ended the week with a goal and an assist in a 5-3 victory against the Reign on Saturday. He now has 18 points (9g-9a) in 22 games with Alaska.

A native of Toronto, Ontario, Howes is third on the Aces with 19 points and third in goals with nine. He also played in one game with Stockton this season where he registered one assist. In 109 career ECHL games with Victoria, Stockton and Alsaska, Howes has 67 points (31g- 36a).

On behalf of Scott Howes a case of pucks will be donated to an Alaska youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 23,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
