Isotopes Score 11 Unanswered to Beat Oklahoma City

NEED TO KNOW: The Albuquerque Isotopes (57-75) scored 11 unanswered runs to erase a five-run deficit and beat the Oklahoma City Dodgers (79-52) 11-5 Wednesday night at Isotopes Park. The Isotopes turned a 5-4-3 triple play in the game, and Trevor Story went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, three RBI and two doubles.

THE TURNING POINT: Oklahoma City built a five-run lead through the first five and a half innings, but Albuquerque saved the best for last. A one-out double by Rafael Ynoa plated the first Isotopes run of the evening in the bottom of the sixth and got their offense rolling. Trevor Story singled in Ynoa and advanced to second on Cristhian Adames' single. First baseman Wilin Rosario then mashed a three-run home run to tie the game. After allowing the first two runners to reach in the top of the seventh, Nelson Gonzalez induced a ground ball to third base on a 3-2 pitch, beginning a 5-4-3 triple play to end the inning. The Isotopes would score three in the bottom of the seventh, highlighted by Story's double, and three more in the eighth, highlighted by Tim Wheeler's two-run home run.

TRIPLE THE FUN: The Isotopes turned a triple play in the seventh inning of Wednesday night's game. It was Albuquerque's first triple play since September 9, 2009 against the Memphis Redbirds in the Pacific Coast League playoffs. The Topes triple play Wednesday night went Rafael Ynoa (3B) to Cristhian Adames (2B) to Wilin Rosario (1B).

LET ME TELL YOU A STORY: Infielder went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, three RBI and two doubles Wednesday night. The prospect now has 40 doubles and 73 RBI between Double- and Triple-A this season. Story also has seven triples and 18 homers on the year.

YNOA WHAT I MEAN?: Infielder Rafael Ynoa went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a walk in Wednesday's game. He now has hits in 11 of his last 12 games, including six multi-hit efforts during that span. Ynoa is 18-for-51 with seven runs scored, two doubles, a triple and four RBI in those 12 games.

GRAB THE BULL BY THE HORNS: First baseman Wili Rosario also picked up three RBI in the game, going 1-for-4 with a three- run homer. It was his sixth homer of the year with Albuquerque. Rosario is now 4-for-12 with three runs scored, a double, two homers and four RBI this homestand.

ENDING WITH A BANG: The Isotopes will wrap up the 2015 home season with a bang this weekend. There will be a rally towel giveaway on Thursday courtesy of Gonstead Chiropractic to the first 3,000 fans and a duffel bag giveaway on Friday courtesy of Miller Lite to the first 2,500 fans 21 and older. Albuquerque's annual fan appreciation weekend is Saturday and Sunday with more than $40,000 in prizes set to be given away over the weekend. There will also be post-game fireworks Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.

ON DECK: The Isotopes will welcome the Colorado Springs Sky Sox to town four the final homestand of the season beginning Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. Left-handed pitcher Aaron Laffey (3-3, 4.34 ERA) is slated to take the hill for Albuquerque, while Colorado Springs is scheduled to send right-hander Zach Davis (1-1, 5.14 ERA) to the mound.

IN THE HOLE: After this four-game set with Oklahoma City, Albuquerque will wrap up its 2015 home slate with a four-game series against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox August 27-30. The Isotopes will conclude the 2015 season on the road with an eight-game trip to visit the Fresno Grizzlies and Sacramento River Cats.
